Patch South Brunswick, NJ --The South Brunswick Board of Education recently honored the Library with its Community Partnership Award.
There are so many exciting events to enjoy including great stories, programs, and seminars at the South Brunswick Library. Meet new friends, learn a craft, take a class and enjoy films.

*Central Jersey (Geek) Culture Appreciation*
Mind meld with a friendly, open-minded group of mostly 20 and 30-somethings whose interests include Buffy to Doctor Who, comic books to Lord of the Rings, Cranium to Dungeons and Dragons, and more. If you have a geeky interest, this is the place to be! Enjoy board games, video games, movies, field trips, and discussions. The group meets at the Library the first Sunday and fourth Saturday each month.

*Computer Q&A Time*
If you have a question about using the computer, please drop by the Information Desk for a little on-on-one face time with a computer education specialist. Ask about basic use, creating an e-mail account, attaching a file, Picasa, digital cameras, downloading photographs, scan a document, e-books, and so on. You can also learn about free classes on computer basics, g-mail, and Microsoft Word. No appointment is necessary. Wednesdays, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

*Internet Basics and Beyond*
Use Google to learn Internet search strategies. Beginning with differentiating between ISP's, browsers and search engines, you will learn the parts of a URL and how to evaluate websites. Friday, June 21 from noon to 1:30 p.m.* *
*Intermediate Microsoft Word*
This class will cover template formatting, pictures, text, and page appearance. It will be taught using Microsoft Word 2002 but more current versions will be discussed. Pre-requisite is basic Microsoft Word Class or equivalent knowledge with Word. Wednesday, June 12, 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
*Introduction to Google Apps*
Harness the power of Google with Google Docs (word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation) and other free services available. A Gmail account is strongly encouraged as well as an Android device (Smart phone or tablet). Thursday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
*Twitter Basics*
Learn the basics of how to use Twitter, how to “tweet”, use hashtags, and retweet. Follow twitter feeds from your friends, experts, favorite celebrities, and breaking news. Tuesday, June 14 from noon to 1 p.m.

This walk-in group is for those who already speak some English but want to develop their conversation skills in a social setting. Come with a topic for discussion and photos to share. Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in the local history room.

This class is taught by Lorraine Jackson, a certified ESL instructor by the Literacy Partners of New Jersey. It is for adults who want to improve their English language speaking skills. Registration required at the Information Desk. Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Tai Chi classes are taught by local Tai Chi instructor Jimmy Lee, who has studied Tai Chi Chuan since 1983 and has been teaching since 2004. *Knitting and Crocheting Group *
The South Brunswick Knitting and Crocheting Group meet every Monday night (when the library is open). Classic films are shown on the first Tuesday each month at 6:30 p.m. Popcorn and snacks will be served. A classic James Bond film will be shown each month.
On June 11, fall in love with The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), also starring Roger Moore, where we first meet the steel-toothed invincible behemoth Jaws, the only villain that appears in more than one film.
And on June 18, its Moonraker (1979), again starring Roger Moore, "easily the most tongue-in-cheek of the series, but it's also pure, escapist fun."
