Gary Lineker teased on Twitter over not-so-life-like waxwork This is Leicestershire -- Football legend Gary Lineker has been teased by stars on Twitter over a not-so-life-like waxwork model of him. Former Manchester United and Denmark goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel started the ball rolling when he tweeted a picture of the barely-recognisable life-size figure yesterday. The joking began after newspaper reports surfaced stating that the Gary Lineker waxwork had, along with 149 others at the Louis Tussard's House of Wax in Great Yarmouth, been sold to a collector from Czechoslovakia. Peter Schmeichel posted the picture and tweeted: "What happened here @GaryLineker?" Former striker Gary, who starred for England and Leicester City, replied: "Yikes! What's that."

Comedian Lee Hurst joined in the teasing and tweeted: "Everyone knows you wax Gary, but you've gone too far this time." Gary, who is known for his sense of humour, replied: "Use my own earwax." Newspaper reports have stated that the owners of Louis Tussard's House of Wax , which had achieved cult status after being dubbed the 'world's worst waxworks' has sold the entire collection to a single buyer. The Hayes had been running the tourist attraction in Norfolk, for 58 years. But the attraction closed last year. Figures on show had included an unflattering Prince of Wales, Princess Di, James Bond actor Sean Connery and former topless model Samantha Fox. A model of the Duke of Cambridge had him in a casual sweater and with a full head of hair. Other footballers featured along with Gary Lineker were former England stars Michael Owen and Kevin Keegan. The building itself is on the market for £375,000 as the elderly couple look to move into a bungalow elsewhere in the coastal town. Thousands of visitors had flocked to the museum and paid £5 each to see the models of celebrities, sports stars and royalty before its closure. Reported by This is 12 hours ago.
