A FIRST-time mum got the shock of her life when she went into labour during her favourite pop star's city concert.
Elisha Turner, 33, who lives in Milehouse, was enjoying Peter Andre's concert at the Pavilions on Friday when she began to have contractions during the star's biggest hit.
Elisha, who was with her mum Suzanne, said: "I've been a Peter Andre fan all my life, since he became famous in his teens.
"This was the first time I've ever seen him in concert."
Suzanne had bought her daughter tickets for the gig as a birthday present when they went on sale last year but found out in March that Elisha was expecting a baby, with her due date being November 16 – the date of the gig.
Elisha said: "I saw the midwife last Thursday and because there was no sign that the baby would make an appearance I decided to go to the show."
But half way through the gig, during a James Bond-style section which included the sound of a gunshot, Elisha began to feel a slight twinge.
"The sound of the gun made me jump and I then felt a bit funny," she said. "That's when I thought something wasn't right."
Elisha stayed to watch her idol's show for a bit longer but during his performance of his most famous song, Mysterious Girl, her mum's favourite number, Elisha had to make a dash to the toilet.
"Because it was my first child I didn't really know what to expect," she said. "I was in a bit of pain so mum sat me on a chair in the bar area and got the St John Ambulance crew to help and phoned my midwife for advice.
"The St John crew took my blood pressure and said my contractions were about three minutes apart so I was taken to Derriford Hospital."
Elisha gave birth to Dylan John Turner, who weighed 7lbs 5oz, at 3.15pm on Saturday afternoon.
She said: "I was a bit annoyed I didn't get to see all of the concert.
"He could have waited a little bit longer, but he was the best present I could have asked for.
"I'm loving being a mum – he's made my life complete."
Suzanne said she was looking forward to telling her first grandchild the story of his near public birth when he is older.
"Dylan obviously liked the music and just wanted to come out and join in," she said. "It was certainly an experience."
Elisha is now hoping Peter Andre returns to the South West in the near future.
"I'd love to see him in concert again – and hopefully I won't be pregnant next time," she added. Reported by This is 1 day ago.
