Sensei's call streak hit eleven weeks last week
. This week, how high can "The Hobbit" climb?
Sensei's weekend predictions and revenue results go as follows:
*1. "The Hobbit" ($107 million) *- After nine years of waiting, fans finally get to return to Middle Earth. While I don't see a "Twilight: Breaking Dawn" or "Hunger Games"-like breakout, I do see one closer to "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," which opened to just more than $100 million in 2008. Film will easily set the record for the highest opening ever in the month of December (beating both "I Am Legend" and "Avatar").
*2. "Rise of the Guardians" ($6.2 million) *- Film came close to beating James Bond last week, this time it pulls ahead.
*3. "Skyfall" ($5.9 million)* - Film is making a run for the $1 billion mark worldwide. That would be quite an accomplishment considering how few films cross such a marker. Only time will tell, but will be fun watching "Skyfall" try to make it there.
*4. "Lincoln" ($5.2 million) - *Film should get a boost off its recent award nominations. Amazing, a film getting awards buzz that audiences actually want to see.
*5. "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part Two" ($4.6 million) - *Based on worldwide grosses, film has already become the most successful entry in the franchise (currently more than $750 million). Anything earned past this is just icing on the cake.
That's Sensei's calls. Have a great weekend. Reported by Breitbart 1 hour ago.
